I am a blank page

I wrote this poem for a performance event about "the blank page" I'm not used to writing in this family friendly style however I enjoyed writing and performing this.

I am a blank page, the image of pure
I am clean and serene a new without flaw.
I have the potential to be all you like
Possibilities endless yet sharp like a knife.

I am a blank page for you to play on
With pencil or pen, felt tip or crayon.
I could be a leaflet a note or a book,
To tell you a story or wish you good luck.

I am a blank page for you to use
You may treasure me kindly or tear and abuse
I could be anything if you where to fold
I could and a tale yet to be told.

I am a blank page full of letters to send,
to lovers, to mothers, to foe or to friend.
I’m laid out at your pleasure to you I give me,
I am your blank page now what do you see.

Love it! - Just to check in para 3, should that be black or blank? Really enjoying your work Danielle :)

That's just gorgeous Danielle. There's a funny phenomenon in art (and I guess in other creative pursuits) I call it blank canvas syndrome. It's when you've got a lovely clear page and you can't think of a thing to paint on it. By writing your poem you've made something challenging into something positive and full of opportunities.....Lovely !
